Welspun opens advanced textiles facility

Welspun India (WIL) has opened its advanced textiles facility and made-ups facility on Saturday.

In February, it may be recalled that the company had entered into strategic agreement with Cotton Egypt Association (CEA) to promote and market Egyptian cotton products worldwide.

Welspun India is one of the world’s largest home textile manufacturers.

Recently, the Environment Ministry has given the environment clearance to Welspun Steel Ltd for setting up an integrated steel plant in Gujarat at an estimated cost of Rs 14,690 crore.

With a production capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum, the plant to be set up at Anjar tehsil in Kutch district aims to provide steady supply of slabs to Welspun Corp Ltd (WCL), group company, which makes heavy plates and hot rolled coils.
