Thumbay group is planning to start a chain of hospitals in India with about 1,500 beds.
Speaking to reporters to announce the formal inauguration of its first hospital, Thumbay Hospital New Life, in Hyderabad, its Medical Director Shyam Sundar said the modalities of expansion, including investments, are being worked out.
The plan is to open super-specialty hospitals in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Mysore and Mumbai. In addition, a second facility in Hyderabad at Jubilee Hills-Hitech city zone will also be opened.
The 200-bed Thumbay Hospital New Life here has been set up with an investment of over Rs 30 crore by taking over the already existing New Life Hospital. The group plans to train its health university students in India in its hospital in Telangana.
