SJVN Thermal’s Bihar project gets EC

The ministry of environment, forest and climate change has given environmental clearance for SVJN Thermal (P) Ltd’s 2×660 MW coal based super critical buxar thermal project (BTPP).

The project will come up near Chausa village in Buxar district, Bihar.

Meanwhile, R N Misra, chairman and managing director of the company, has said that 95 per cent of land required for the project activities has already been acquired.

“No displacement is involved in the construction of project. Moreover no forest land is involved for the project activities including pipelines and associated facilities,” he said.

The government is set to get 25.5 per cent share in the 1320 MW project. Buxar power project is the Shimla-based company’s first thermal power plant to come at Chausa village in Buxar district of Bihar.
