Rewa Park achieves milestone

Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Park has reached commercial closure for a project that has come to be the model for solar projects in the country.

According to a Business Standard report, two sets of power purchase agreements were signed by the project developers– Mahindra Renewables, ACME Solar Holdings and Solengeri Power -— with the Madhya Pradesh government-owned distribution companies and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

Apart from the PPAs, various agreements for land transfer and coordination were signed between the developers, Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL), New and Renewable Energy Department, Power Grid Corporation and the department of finance in the Madhya Pradesh government.

Union power and renewable energy minister Piyush Goyal, while speaking at the PPA signing event, said despite being a power surplus state, Madhya Pradesh has taken renewable energy as a long-term vision.
