Premier Explosives to set up manufacturing facility in AP

Premier Explosives Ltd said it has received a proposal for land allotment in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh for setting up a solid propellant manufacturing unit.

In a statement to BSE, it said following an application made to Andhra Pradesh seeking land allocation for a new unit, the AP Indutstrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) had in a letter informed it was provisionally willing to offer 202 acres of land at Routhsurmala village in Chittoor district.

The company has accepted the offer and initiated necessary steps for firm allotment of land and setting up of the manufacturing unit for solid propellant.

Premier Explosives Ltd is a leading player in manufacturing solid propellants for India’s prestigious missile programmes like Akash, Astra, and LRSAM.

Founded in 1980, by Dr A N Gupta, a Gold Medallist in Mining Engineering, Premier has the honour of being the first to set up a manufacturing unit with totally indigenous commercial explosive technology.
