NCC, a Hyderabad-based infrastructure construction company, has acquired the first construction contract for the Pune Metro Rail project.
Maharashtra Metro Rail Corp (Maha Metro) MD Brijesh Dixit said NCC offered a very competitive rate and it was in line with the what was quoted for the Nagpur Metro.
He further said that NCC is also executing a project for the Nagpur Metro. Construction work is expected to begin in a week in the Pimpri Chinchwad-Range Hills stretch.
According to a report in Financial Express, this is the first stretch on the north-south corridor for which the tender was floated for the Rs 11,420-crore high-capacity Pune Metro project. It is being executed by Maha Metro, a Government of India and Maharashtra government JV.
