Hatsun starts power plants in TN

Dairy major Hatsun Agro Products has announced commissioning wind power plants with 24 megawatt (MW) capacity in Tuticorin district in Tamil Nadu.

The electricity generated from these plants will be used for Hatsun’s business.

These apart, Hatsun will most probably commission a solar power plant with 550 kilowatt (KW) capacity this month in Dindigul district in Tamil Nadu.

“The wind and solar projects cost about Rs 180 crore and are expected to generate around 73 million units of electricity per annum which will be utilised for captive consumption,” it said in a statement, expressing hope that the green power projects will help it meet 75 per cent of its energy requirements.
