Central govt committee to take up 4 projects for final environmental clearance

Four projects will be taken up for final environmental clearance (EC) at the 17th meeting of the expert appraisal committee (industry-1) of the union ministry of environment, forest and climate change.

The meeting will be held on April 6 and 7 at Conference Hall of Vayu Block at Indira Paryavaran Bhavan, Jor Bagh, New Delhi.

The projects which will be taken up for consideration, according to a press release from the ministry, are as follows:

Addition of a 2.0 MTPA Pellet plant and 7m tall top charged Coke oven battery to Bokaro Steel Plant of 0.768 MTPA production capacity. to existing Bokaro Steel Plant of Steel Authority India Limited at Bokaro Steel City, Bokaro Dist., Jharkhand.

Expansion of Integrated Steel Plant of Nalwa Steel & Power Ltd., at village Taraimal, Tehsil Gharghoda, Dist.Raigarh, Chattisgarh.

Expansion of metallurgical unit at MIDC, Ph-I, Aurangabad, Daregoan, Jalana Maharashtra by Om Sairam Steel and Alloys Pvt Ltd.

Expansion of Integrated Cement Plant by installing additional plant to produce 2.5 MTPA clinker and 1.50 MTPA Cement at Baga village, Arki tehsil, Soaln dist., Himachal Pradesh of Jaypee Himachal Plant (a unit of Jaiprakash Associates Limited)
