E-tail major Amazon has set up seven new warehouses, to cater to its customers in India. Also, it is planning to hire 1,200 people to add to its staff strength.
The company has committed an investment of USD 5 billion in the Indian market, and will also set up 33 delivery stations to meet the demand.
Amazon India Vice President India Customer Fulfilment Akhil Saxena told PTI: “We have set up a dedicated infrastructure of nine FCs and 33 exclusive delivery stations that will ensure faster and reliable delivery of large appliances and furniture to more than 150 cities.”
Already, Amazon operates 27 such warehouses across the country, it is to be noted. With the latest addition, the number has touched 34.
