9 projects to be taken up for first level EC by govt

As many as nine projects will be taken up for first level environmental clearance by at the 17th meeting of the expert appraisal committee (industry-1) of the union ministry of environment, forest and climate change.

The meeting will be held on April 6 and 7 at Conference Hall of Vayu Block at Indira Paryavaran Bhavan, Jor Bagh, New Delhi.

The projects which will be taken up for consideration, according to a press release from the ministry, include:

Proposed 1 Million ton integrated Steel Plant with 225MW at Village Gokulpur, Paschim Midnapur, West Bengal of Orissa Metaliks Private Limited.

Proposed Enhancement in Cement Production Capacity (2.0 MTPA to 2.3 MTPA) of Existing Stand-alone Grinding Unit by installation of New Slag Grinder at Mouza: Chanditala, District: Hooghly, West Bengal by Dankuni Cement Works. It is a unit of UltraTech Cement Ltd.

Proposed Enhancement in Clinker Production Capacity (1.6 to 1.94 MTPA) by Process Optimization at Villages – Bhawaliya & Mangrol, Tehsil – Nimbahera, District – Chittorgarh (Rajasthan) by Lafarge India Ltd.

Proposed Expansion in Paper Production Capacity from 45 TPD to 100 TPD at 9th km stone Nagina Road, Village Abdullpur Munna, Tehsil & District Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh) by Mohit Paper Mills Limited.

Installation of 2×5 MVA EAFs and 5×9 MVA SAFs for production of 257 TPD (89950 TPA) Ferro Alloys of Anjaney Ferro Alloy Ltd. Unit II at Mouza Bhutberia No. 17 P.O. Mihijam, Jamtara District, Jharkhand.
