West Bengal govt allocates land to TCG at Haldia

The West Bengal government has allocated 98.53 acres of land to Purnendu Chatterjee-led The Chatterjee Group (TCG) to set up a new plant at Haldia.

Speaking to the media after a Cabinet meeting at the State secretariat, Transport minister Suvendu Adhikari said, The state cabinet granted 98.53 acres to the Chatterjee Group to set up a new plant at Haldia.”

TCG has a majority stake in Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation’s (MCC) Indian unit at Haldia in East Midnapore district.

The work for the Rs 4500 crore plant would start from December, he added. The MCC PTA India (MCPI) will set up the plant to produce purified terephthalic acid, the Minister said further
