The Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled a 91-km long Gorakhpur Link Expressway entailing an investment of Rs 5,555 crore.
The mega project will link Gorakhpur and the Purvanchal Expressway and also the Bundelkhand Expressway while crisscrossing through Jhansi, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun, Auraiya and Etawah districts.
According to an official release, it will touch Agra-Lucknow Expressway at Etawah. Acquisition of the remaining land required to execute the projects is likely to be completed very shortly.
Meanwhile, the UP government has set strict deadline of December 2021 to finish work on two of its ambitious infrastructure projects: the Bundelkhand Expressway and the Poorvanchal Expressway.
UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), the nodal agency for the two projects, said that more than 96 per cent of the 4,332 hectares needed for the Purvanchal Expressway has been acquired.
