Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation has decided to revive the Attukal sewage project.
Initially envisaged in 2009 under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), the project was planned for connecting Attukal, Kalady, Ambalathara, Kalippankulam and Nedumcaud.
Though the land acquisition for the same was completed back then, the project did not take off, a report in The Hindu said, adding that the decision to revive the project was taken in a meeting chaired by the Mayor on Monday.
“As part of the project, pumping stations will come up at Kalady, Kalady South, Attukal and Kalladimukham, and the sewage line will be connected to the Muttathara sewage treatment plant,” it further said.
