Thermax begins work on new plant in Sri City

Pune-based engineering company Thermax Ltd has performed groundbreaking ceremony for construction of its production unit in Sri City.

Ashish Vaishnav, Global Head, Cooling Business of Thermax, said the plant is expected to be commissioned by March 2018.

The plant will be built on a 40 acre plot in the Domestic Tariff Zone in Sri City with an investment of Rs 150 crore.

The plant will produce chillers for large scale air conditioning units, steam generators, and boilers etc. The company expects to provide employment opportunity for about 200 persons.

Established in 1967, Thermax specialises in energy and environment systems. It offers integrated innovative solutions in the areas of heating, cooling, power, water and waste management, air pollution control and chemicals. The company has manufacturing facilities in India, China and Europe.
