Tender has been floated by NBCC (India) for construction of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Deoghar in Jharkhand on EPC basis.
The project will be executed at a cost of Rs 913.42 crore in a period of 24 months. The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are a group of autonomous public medical colleges of higher education.
These institutes have been declared by an Act of Parliament as Institutes of National Importance. AIIMS New Delhi, the fore-runner parent excellence institution, was established in 1956.
The Union Cabinet had last year approved establishment of a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Deoghar, Jharkhand. The idea will serve the dual-purpose of providing super specialty health care facilities and increase the number of doctors in the region. The plan will further help to create primary and secondary level institutions/facilities under the National Health Mission (NMH).
