Suzlon is likely to bag an order for 250 MW from Sembcorp. Though the lead is yet to be finalised, it is learnt that Suzlon is most likely to bag it.
The reason, sources say, Sembcorp had tied-up with Suzlon long ago. Recently, Sembcorp and three others (Inox, Mytrah and Ostro Energy), won mandates to set up 250 MW each and sell the power to the government-owned Power Trading Corporation.
They bagged it to supply electricity at a tariff of Rs. 3.46 a kWhr, in the auctions put through by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
“Since Suzlon had partnered with Sembcorp for the supply of wind turbine, it will associate itself in the fresh project too,” sources said.
