Union power minister Piyush Goyal has provided detailed information on the status of various hydroelectric schemes being implemented across the country.

Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, he said that for the central project in Uttarakhand, the DPR has been examined and cleared from almost all aspects.

“The scheme could not be concurred for want of report on e-flow of Empowered Committee of MoWR, RD & GR in view of DO letter of MoWR, RD& GR dated 08.11.2015,” he said.

As far as the state project in Bihar is concerned, concurrence meeting was held on 20.03.2013. However, the project could not be concurred due to high project cost and tariff submitted by developer. Developer has to clarify on apportionment cost on
account of flood control but the Developer is not responding.

Giving update about state project in Meghalaya, he said, “Various appraising Groups have issued their observations. However, Developer is not submitting compliance to the observations.”

He also provided status updates about four projects coming up in Arunachal Pradesh.
