Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said the world’s biggest footwear park would be developed at Kharkhoda in Sonepat district.
The facility, spread over 900 acres, would have all modern facilities required for the growth of footwear industries and developing labourer’s skill.
He said after he inaugurated a skill development and quality control centre at the Footwear Park in Bahadurgarh town of the district.
The centre, established at a cost of Rs 25 crore, would train people in footwear manufacturing so that they could easily get employment. Industries Minister Vipul Goel was also present on the occasion.
He added: “As many as 620 plots will be allotted in the proposed footwear park at Kharkhoda, while five acres will be made available for establishing a skill development centre to raise employment avenues for local residents.
