Bosch Limited has commissioned a 4 MW solar project for the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT). The project is a ground-mounted installation on a land area of close to 18 acres.
Venugopalan CM, head, Bosch Energy and Building Solutions, said, “NMPT is the latest project executed by the Bosch Energy and Building Solutions (BEBS) team. Drawing on their wide experience, our design engineers have ensured that the project delivers long-term value for NMPT. The design of the solar plant is such that it will also allow for future expansion of the project.”
The project will deliver close to 20,000 units per day for the port’s captive consumption, which is equivalent to the power consumption of 5,000 urban households.
Venugopalan added: “Sustainable infrastructure is a key element in the development story of India. Bosch views airports and seaports as a focus area for providing energy solutions – this seaport project is an additional feather in its cap. Bosch is proud to be associated with NMPT, one of the first seaports in India to go green with solar energy and thereby contribute to nation building.”
