The Union government has informed that the Raipur to Vishakhapatnam stretch of the proposed expressway has been identified for development under Bharatmala project,
According to officials, with five ports Paradip and Dhamra in Odisha, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Machillipatnam in Andhra Pradesh, the opportunity of setting up of manufacturing clusters in Chhattisgarh is immense.
As per the directions of the NHAI, the work of preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) from Kurud to Andhra Pradesh/Odisha Border having length of 359 kms started in June this year.
It is to be noted that 24,800 km Highways along with 10,000 km residual NHDP stretches are to be constructed under Phase-I of Bharatmala Project over a period of 5 years i.e., from 2017-18 to 2021-22.
