Plywood industry cluster to come up at Hoshiarpur in Punjab

The Punjab government has decided to set up a cluster of plywood industry over 400 acres of land at Hoshiarpur.

Speaking to the media, State industry minister Sunder Sham Arora said, “We will come up with a cluster for plywood industry at Hoshiarpur, which will be spread over 400 acres of land”

According to the Minister, a new focal point for iron and steel industry would also be set up at Mandi Gobindgarh.

“The new focal point will come up at 133 acres of land at village Wazirabad near Mandi Gobindgarh,” he said further. Arora also said the state had received investment proposals worth Rs 9,300 crore in the last one year or so which would generate 50,000 jobs.
