Orient Cement has decided to invest about Rs 2,000 crore on expanding its facility in Adilabad district in Telangana.
According to a state government statement, Deepak Khetrapal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Orient Cement Limited, met Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday and informed him about the expansion plan.
Khetrapal requested Rama Rao to provide limestone linkage from Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation (TSMDC) for long-term requirements of the plant.
The statement added: “The CK Birla Group company would increase the capacity of its Devapur (Mancherial) facility in Adilabad district to 7.5 million tonnes a year from the present 3.05 million tonnes.”
Rao said the government extend all the support required to facilitate the expansion plans. The company secured the preliminary clearance from the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF). The final clearance of MoEF is awaited, it said further.
