Omics International is planning to set up a Rs 1,000 crore special economic zone (SEZ) at Chandanagar, Hyderabad, spread over 25 acres.
The Hyderabad-based company that is primarily into open-acess journals and international scientific conferences has obtained approval from the government of India for the project .
According to a Telangana Today report, it has chosen Hyderabad-based property developer Phoenix Group to develop this project.
Dr Srinubabu Gedela, MD, Omics International, was quoted as saying in the report: “The one million sq ft space will create 5,000 jobs. Omics which owns the SEZ will occupy 50 per cent of the space for its captive purposes while the remaining half will be let out for other companies.”
