NHAI to take up expressway project in Punjab

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is planning to take up new expressway project in Punjab.

As of February 2020, environment clearance for the project is underway.

The project involves development of Punjab section from Km 135+056 to Km 396+863 of Delhi – Amritsar – Katra Expressway. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 76,940 million.

NHAI is an autonomous agency of the Government of India, set up in 1988 and is responsible for management of a network of over 50,000 km of National Highways out of 1,15,000 km in India. It is a nodal agency of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
