It added: “Initially, NHAI officials had decided to widen the four-lane road from RIMS Road to Renigunta but later extended the stretch from Toll-Plaza to Renigunta airport. In view of this, officials prepared the new alignment to build a four-lane road from Badawal to Krishnapatnam port in Nellore district, along the Kadapa-Renigunta road as the Krishnapatnam Port is also being used for exporting iron ore and granite from other parts of Karnataka and Rayalaseema.”
