National Highway 29 to be widened

Works are going on in fast track to widen the National Highway 29 from Purana Bazaar to Chumoukedima stretch at Dimapur in Nagaland.

According to a report in NBM and CW, authorities have fast tracked the process of resolving pressing issues related to the 4-lane construction of the road project.

Stating that the village authorities have assured full co-operation to the government for timely completion of the project, the report added that it has also been resolved not to allow any obstruction in construction work by any individual or group with reasons of claiming land compensation or any other related issues.

“The four-lane road construction is within the purview of the road reservation (ROW) and hence, the question of land compensation does not arise,” it said further.
