The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has revealed that it is planning to set up a ‘textile park’ near the Jewar airport.
According to officials, it conducted meetings with Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) and agreed to allot a 200-acre land to 100 textile businessmen.
According to Arunveer Singh, CEO, YEIDA, the textile park will givea boost to the industry.
He said: “The Jewar international airport will help in the import and export of goods. The land will be allotted to the textile investors in few days. The textile park will also create nearly five lakh employment and 90 per cent of workers will be women.”
Lalit Thukral, president, NAEC, stated that the Noida-Greater Noidaarea is a textile hub. “We produce readymade garments and the annual export is nearly Rs 14,000 crore.”
