Maharashtra looks to build resorts in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh

The State government of Maharashtra has decided to build one resort each in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. This follows the Centre scrappineg Article 370 that scrapped the special status of J&K.

The Devendra Fadnavis government has sanctioned a seed capital of Rs 2 crore for the purpose to explore the land and other expenses, said a report in BusinessLine.

It quoted Maharashtra Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal as saying that the investment would be made through the Maharashtra State Tourism Corporation (MTDC).

“The MTDC Board met on August 28 and has decided to set up a resort and mountaineering training centre near Leh, Ladakh and another resort near Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir,” said the report.
