The state government of Maharashtra has accorded nod to a bicycle track in Mumbai, as part of the project proposed by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM).
The Rs 300 crore project, likely to be the longest in the country, will create a 10-metre wide corridor on both sides of the pipeline. It will be constructed clearing all encroachments along water pipelines in Mumbai.
The chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, has given nod to the project, which is expected to be completed in 18 months.
According to reports, once completed, the project is set to provide the shortest route and connectivity between North-South and East-West Mumbai.
