Maharashtra CM gives nod to consortium for Purandar airport project

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given nod to a consortium of four local authorities, to form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to expedite the Purandar airport project.

The four authorities that will form the consortium are: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) and Maharashtra Airport Development Company.

Late last year, the CM gave his approval to appoint a consultant, to prepare the development plan (DP) of the proposed greenfield Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje international airport at Purandar in Pune district.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Fadnavis with board of directors of Maharashtra airport development corporation (MADC) in Mumbai. The Chief Minister also gave a nod for setting up a project management office for the proposed Purandar airport.
