The Buildings & Factories Business of L&T Construction has said it has won a ‘prestigious order’ from the India International Convention & Exhibition Centre Limited to design and construct a state-of-the-art India International Convention & Expo Center (IICC) in New Delhi.
According to a press release, the order is worth Rs 3355 crore. Planned over 89 hectares of land in Dwarka, New Delhi, the centre will feature world class infrastructure facilities like exhibition spaces, convention areas, hotels, commercial offices, retail spaces and a 20,000 capacity multi-purpose arena.
“Apart from the detailed design, L&T’s scope of works also includes civil construction, MEP, architectural finishes, ICT networks, landscape including automated irrigation systems and drainage systems. The project is slated to be completed within stringent timelines. Upon completion, the IICC will stand as an iconic symbol of the country’s architectural repository,” it said.
The facilities will be at par with the best in the world and will offer an exquisite ambiance and high quality setting for international as well as national meetings, conferences, exhibitions and trade shows, it added.
