Lohia Auto Industries is looking for land to set up a greenfield plant in South India for manufacture of two and three-wheelers, including electric vehicles.
A BusinessLine report quoted the company’s Ayush Lohia as saying: “The company has presence in North and North Eastern part of the country and is now looking to consolidate its foothold in southern and western parts of the country.”
The greenfield plant will entail an investment outlay of Rs 100 crore, he said and added: “We are yet to finalise the location of the plant.”
It is also planning to double its electric vehicles product portfolio to around 20 models, including an e-bike, by the end of next financial year. Recently, the company was in talks with various state governments, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, to set up the new facility. The new plant would roll out both electric as well as diesel products.
