Land acquisition commences for ISRO unit at Valiyamala in Kerala

The state government of Kerala has sanctioned social impact assessment study at Valiyamala in Karipoor Village, in a major step towards acquiring land for Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC).

The study will be conducted as per Section 4 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (Central Act 30 of 2013).

According to a TOI report, the government has accorded sanction to the social impact assessment unit, Rajagiri outREACH to conduct the study and to prepare a a social impact management plan as provided in the Act.

The process, it said, will be completed within a period of two months. Around 67.68 acres will be acquired at Mallamprakonam, Pathamkallu ward in Nedumangad for the Isro project and 48 families have to be compensated, said the report.
