The Karnataka State Department of Industries and Commerce has given nod to the setting up of a plastic park at Ganjimutt.
According to N Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, Dakshina Kannada District Industries Centre, the facility will come up at an estimated cost of Rs 152 crore.
Speaking at the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting, he said hat 32 companies have registered to set up their units in the park.
“They have asked for 81 acres of land against 61 acres available now. A total of 104 acres are required for the park. About ?41 crore is required to acquirethe remaining land required for the project. The government gave its approval recently”, he added.
The meeting was presided over by Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament.
