The first mega food park of Bihar, which is set to become operational in Khagaria, will provide employment to around 3,000 skilled and semi-skilled workers.
Speaking to TOI, Amit Kumar, director of the Pristine Logistics and Infraprojects Private Ltd, said, “2,500-3,000 skilled and semi-skilled people will be employed and about 80 per cent of the workforce will be hired locally.”
“We, the promoters, are bureaucrats-turned-entrepreneurs belong to Bihar. The food processing sector in the state has tremendous potential,” he said in an interview to TOI.
He however said the sector has been suffering for decades due to lack of adequate modern infrastructure. “Being sons of the soil, we were aware of the complexities and challenges of working in Bihar. However, we were not deterred because we did not intend to do this project in our home state for money.”
