The State government of Haryana has decided to take initiatives for setting up a cold chain across the state and explore the possibility of forging partnership with farmer organisations.
This was informed at a workshop on “Clean Cold Chain”, organised by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
TL Satyaprakash, managing director, HSIIDC, recalled that during the month of May, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had visited the UK with a delegation for investment purposes.
He added: “As part of investment activities, a memorandum of understanding was signed during the visit between the University of Birmingham and Haryana for facilitating a new cold chain technology in the state along with other cold chain modules and also working on an advanced new technology to help meet rising demand for cooling sustainably through cold chain.”
