Haryana, AAI come together to develop Hisar airport as aviation hub

The state government of Haryana government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for development of an international aviation hub at Hisar.

On behalf of the Haryana government, adviser (civil aviation) Ashok Sangwan signed the MOU, while head of business management Anil Kumar Gupta signed for the AAI.

Before the development, a detailed study of various projects or models in the country and the impact on grass root development of the Rohtak-Hisar-Sirsa region by 2030 was carried out.

It may be noted that Hisar had been notified by the Union government in Bharat Mala Project with exciting possibilities for a Delhi-Sirsa Economic Corridor and connection to Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) via the Rohtak-Rewari link.

The corridor has potential to emerge as an economic enabler for the region and would completely transform the region in future.
