Guwahati to get Northeast’s first sustainable airport terminal

Lokopriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport’s upcoming terminal building will will be the first ‘sustainable’ terminal of the Northeast.

This was revealed by the Regional Executive Director (RED) of Airports Authority of India’s Northeast region, Sanjiv Jindal.

Speaking to reporters in Guwahati, he said the sustainable terminal building will have a sewage treatment plant, solar power, rainwater harvesting units, solid waste disposal system and energy-efficient lighting.

He added: “It will be the most beautiful airport terminal building and an iconic building of the Northeast with 10 boarding bridges for passengers, 25 lifts, 10 elevators and two travelators.”
