Essar Ports is planning an investment of Rs 3,200 crore to set up a new coal terminal in Mozambique and to expand its terminals in Salaya and Hazira in Gujarat in the next 30 months.
Quoting Rajiv Agarwal, chief executive officer, Essar Ports, a DNA report said, “The existing capacity of our terminals at Salaya and Hazira will be augmented. We have signed a memorandum of understanding for a new terminal at Salaya in Gujarat.”
It is to be noted that the company is about to complete Rs 2,800 crore expansion of Salaya and Vishakapatnam terminals started six years back.
At present, Essar Ports has presence at four locations- Salaya and Hazira, Paradip in Odisha and Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. It is now looking at overseas presence with the Mozambique terminal, said the report.
