CMC to set up sewage treatment plant at Rs 10 crore

Chas Municipal Corporation (CMC) has decided to set up a sewage treatment plant (STP) to prevent river water pollution.

The unit will come-up at a cost of Rs 10 crore at Bedani village under Chas block in Bokaro.

Quoting S Alam, Manager Township CMC, a report in The Pioneer said sewage water will be treated in the plant and later it will be supplied to Vedanta-ElectroSteel and other industrial units.

“This treated water would also be utilized for horticulture as well as in gardening,” he said. About two acres of land has been identified at Bedani village; the land transfer process has also been completed, he was further quoted as saying.
