Officials of Airports Authority of India (AAI) have dropped a hint that Chiethu Greenfield Airport in Nagaland is expected to become operational by 2021 if everything goes as planned.
Top oficials from AAI, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF & CC) undertook aerial survey of Chiethu Airport proposed site.
Speaking to reporters, Nagaland’s minister for transport & civil aviation, P Paiwang Konyak said that the earlier survey of Chiethu Airport in 2006 has been nullified.
Stating that AAI had done the techno-economics feasibility in 2006, he added that the team will examine the feasibility with officials from Transport department.
