At the fourth meeting of the union government’s re-constituted expert appraisal committee on thermal power projects in New Delhi recently, seven proposals were taken up for consideration.
The projects include expansion of 2×363.3 MW Gas based Power Project at Palatana, Tehsil Kakraban, Tripura by ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited and expansion by addition of 2×660 MW (Stage-II) Unit-5 & 6 Coal based Thermal Power Plant at village Chowki- Motipara in Rajasthan by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd.
Also in the list are 2×800 MW Udangudi Super Critical Imported Coal Based TPP at village Udangudi, in Tamil Nadu
by Udangudi Power Corporation Ltd- reg and 4×150 MW Coal washery rejects based Thermal Power Project at Village
Parsa,& Kete, Surguja by Surguja Power Private Limited.
There were also disposal of fly ash generated from 460 MW TPP into mine void of South Balonda OPC of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, Talcher, Dist. Angul, Odisha by NTPC Limited, disposal of Fly ash (1.65 MTPA) generated from 883 MW Captive Thermal Power Plants into mine void of Jagannath OPC of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited in Talcher, Odisha by Bhushan Steel Limited and disposal of fly ash generated from Talcher Super Thermal Power Station (Stage-I:2×500 MW & Stage-II: 4×500 MW) into abandoned mine voids of Jagannath OPC of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited in Talcher, Odisha by NTPC Limited.
