Aurangabad GMCH’s superspecialty block to be ready by Sept

Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) dean Kanan Yelikar has said a 200-bed hospital with eight super-specialty departments will be ready by September.

Accordin to Yelkar, the super-specialty block is being constructed under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). The block would make many procedures including kidney transplant a reality at the GMCH.”

Recently, MLA Atul Save made a pitch for setting up a dedicated generic medicine store — Jan Aushadhi Kendra — at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in the state assembly.

He said the move will be of huge benefit to patients seeking treatment at the hospital, which is forever plagued by drugs shortage.
