The State government of Gujarat in India and United States’ Colorado province will sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) involving a massive investment in the energy sector during the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit (VGS).
To be held in January in Gandhinagar, the biennial event will see the beginning of cooperation between Gujarat and Colorado to establish solar parks, electric vehicle manufacturing, power distribution, and other renewable energy sectors.
Energy Minister Saurabh Patel, who held a meeting with the representatives from Colorado state government in Gujarat, said that the meet was fruitful.
He also said that long-term cooperation between both the entities would benefit Gujarat in future. “We have started the process to receive proposals and letters of intent (LOI) for establishment of solar power park having power generation capacity of 1000 MW and the same has been sought from the US-based companies. The Colorado government also agreed to cooperate with us for our SKY project that enables farmers to generate electricity their own by solar panels in their farms,” he added.
