The Amaravati Development Corporation (ADCL), in a bid to provide better road connectivity to the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, has launched road widening work of the river bund road at Undavalli at an investment of Rs 538 crore.
The contractor for the project has already been finalised and construction work will be taken up on a war footing.
The localitiy has become an accident-prone zone due to the single lane 20-feet wide road, which will now be expanded to a four-lane.
To start with, it will be widened for about 7-8 km from the Sitarampuram Hill Junction to near Mantena Satyanarayanaraju Ashram. During the second phase, it will be connected to the Seed Access Road.
