AAI floats tender for new greenfield airport at Itanagar

Bids have been invited by the Airports Authority of India for construction of new greenfield airport at Holongi, Itanagar in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh (Part-II) on EPC basis.

The estimated value of the project is Rs 188.3 crore with completion period of 24 months. The work involves construction of complete city side & balance airside infrastructure.

Recently, AAI reportedly decided to invest about Rs 19,000 crore in the next couple of years. At present, AAI manages 125 airports, including 11 international aerodromes and is adding 273 parking bays at 24 airports. Airports in Chennai and Kolkata will also see an upgrade.

The slots are evenly distributed across the country – with about 82 in the south, 70 in the east and northeast, 61 in the north and 60 in the western parts of the country.
