400 kv substation to come up in Medaram in Telangana

Telangana Genco has commissioned a 400 kv mega substation at Medaram, in a bid to provide power supply for lift and pumping stations of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).

Genco chairman and managing director D Prabhakar Rao inaugurated the facility om Telanagana state load dispatch center through online SCADA system at Vidyut Soudha, Hyderabad.

The top official switched on the 400 kv circuit breakers situated in the switchyard of 400 kv Medaram substation site.

According to officials, this is for the for the first time a 400 kv substation was remotely commissioned by any state power utility in India. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has appreciated officials for adopting latest technologies, it is learnt.
